Be at the forefront of Canada’s clean energy future.
Are you ready to help guide a global clean tech leader?
Spurred by new Government of Canada funding for world leading research and the next wave of tidal technologies in the Bay of Fundy, and strengthened by ongoing provincial support, this is the moment to join FORCE’s Board of Directors to provide leadership through this next phase of Canada’s clean energy transition.
About FORCE
FORCE brings together industry, researchers, Indigenous Knowledge Holders, policy makers and other partners to responsibly advance tidal technologies in the Bay of Fundy.
We are Canada’s lead research facility for tidal-stream technology. FORCE operates in the Minas Passage, home to the world’s highest tides, providing grid-connected test infrastructure and leading research on environmental effects. FORCE is a private, not-for-profit organization with dedicated staff, governed by an independent Board and informed by an Environmental Monitoring Advisory Committee and a Community Liaison Committee.
Who we’re looking for
We’re seeking 2–3 Board Members to support FORCE’s mission at this transformative time. These are volunteer Board roles with an expected commitment of 2–3 hours per month; a stipend is provided to recognize time and commitment to the Board. To balance our Board's skill set, we are seeking at least one member with strong financial acumen as well as candidates with governance/leadership experience and a demonstrated commitment to excellence and environmental stewardship. Knowledge of the renewable or ocean sectors is considered an asset. Above all, you are passionate about advancing clean technology in Nova Scotia and contributing to Canada’s clean-energy future.
To be a successful contributor to FORCE, you are a thoughtful communicator, strategic thinker and a natural collaborator who listens, builds trust, and works inclusively. You are open to new ideas and innovative practices while exercising prudent, mission-aligned oversight. Our Board members are exceptional ambassadors for FORCE across our communities, building trust, awareness, and advocacy for our mission.
