Using radar data to evaluate seabird abundance and habitat use at the Fundy Ocean Research Centre for Energy site near Parrsboro, NS

An open-array Furuno marine radar unit has been operating nearly continuously at the FORCE site since 2015.  The radar was deployed to monitor the flow of water and turbulence at the FORCE site, however bird targets were also evident on the scans. In this study, archived radar scans from the FORCE site were assessed to determine if the data could be used to monitor seabird activity at the site.
