This report describes results of an effects monitoring program focused on lobster using test and control areas within and adjacent to the 1.6 km FORCE crown lease area. The first survey was conducted between September 25 and October 3, 2009. The commercial fishery in the area began October 14. The second survey was carried out between November 5 and November 18, 2009 while the commercial fishery was active. Nova Scotia Power (NSPI) installed the first prototype tidal generator on November 12, 2009.
