Closed - Board Director

Published October 8, 2020

FORCE is Canada's lead research facility for tidal stream technology, created to better understand if this technology can play a safe, effective role in Canada's energy future.

FORCE provides the electrical infrastructure to deliver power to Nova Scotians, research and environmental monitoring programs to help ensure activity at the Minas Passage test site is responsible and transparent, and stakeholder engagement to promote conversations about the opportunity of tidal energy.

FORCE is currently seeking a new Board Director to support its mission. The new Director will possess strong leadership experience and a track record of excellence in their field. The successful candidate may have knowledge of renewable energy development or experience in ocean industry, but above all they consider themselves a champion for sustainable development and environmental management, and are interested in making a meaningful contribution to Nova Scotia's clean energy future.

We value diversity and inclusion at FORCE. We actively encourage applications from members of communities with historical and/or current barriers to equity, including, but not limited to: Mi'kmaq and other Indigenous peoples; African Nova Scotians and members of communities that commonly experience discrimination due to race, ancestry, colour, or place of origin; persons with visible and/or invisible (physical and/or mental) disabilities; persons who identify as women; and persons of marginalized sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions. If you are a member of an equity group, you are encouraged to self-identify, on your application form, cover letter, or on your resume.
