Advisory: Continuing Marine Activity at FORCE

FORCE and its partners continue a period of frequent and ongoing activity at locations including the Parrsboro wharf, West Bay, and the FORCE site in the Minas Passage.FAST-2 Jan trials2

These activities relate to ongoing environmental monitoring at the site as well as the deployment and operations of the Fundy Advanced Sensor Technology (FAST) Program. The FAST Program consists of both onshore and offshore components, including a series of underwater monitoring platforms, which capture marine life, noise level, seabed stability, and currents and turbulence data at the site. To learn more, please visit www.fundyforce.ca/fast

As a result of these activities, vessels, barges, and personnel may enter and exit the Parrsboro wharf from time to time. Activities may also include crane use, necessitating brief delays in wharf access. FORCE will work with all wharf users in an effort to minimize disruption to routine activities.

It may be possible to view activity online via video streaming: fundyforce.ca/visit/live-video/

The FORCE visitors center is now open to the public seven days a week from 10am to 5pm. Reduced hours begin after labour day; check fundyforce.ca/visit/ for details.

We apologize for any inconvenience during operations, and are happy to answer any questions.

Thank you.
